Education for Marginalized Children in Kenya (EMACK) is an initiative by the ministry of education and the Aga Khan Foundation made possible by the American people through the United State Agency or International Development. The program seeks to improve access to quality education and increase retention and completion rates for children historically.
We invite candidates who share the same objective and goals to come fill the following positions
Deputy Chief of Party Coast province
Will report to chief of party based in Mombasa and provide oversight, strategies for technical expertise and effective education interventions for the entire region
Essential functions
- Programming
- Support education specialist in the design of innovative education programs , objective of scaling up and mainstreaming of successful feature and approaches
- Facilitate capacity building efforts for District and provincial Education officials
- Monitor program reviews and come up with budget plan
- Finance and administration
- Be accountable for development of the coast province program budget in collaboration with education specialist
- Development strategy
- Over all responsibility for EMACKs capacity building efforts for district and education and provincial education officials
- Responsible for the quality of program and plans developed by EMACKs core team members and concerned parties
Support implementation of innovative and effective strategies for the development of education programs
Education requirement
- Masters degree in education or equivalent field
- Minimum of 5 years in senior leadership and management position in a non governmental organization or public sector
- Conversant with education basics including Early Childhood, primary and secondary school education
- Willingness to work additional hours
