Understanding the shallowness and Fragility of Banking sector


The seminar will be given by Dr. Radha Upadhyaya, an economist. With great experience in teaching at the Department of Finance and management studies at SOAS, University in London, the Dr. has a lot to offer.
Within Kenya Dr. upadhyaya has been involved in policy reforms, the restructuring of a failed Kenyan Bank and has severed on the board of the institute of Economic Affairs.
The seminar will however, be chaired by Dr. Ambreena Manji the head Director of the British Institute in East Africa.

Exhibitions: Eye on Animations


Kuona Trust invites you to: Eyes on Animation
this is a series of animations by Andrew Njoroge, Patrick Mukabi, Peterson Kamwathi & Allan Musumbi.
This is a joint conceptual project bringing together artists using new media as a means of expression, with the aim of exploring the possibilities of animation as an art form in the Kenyan context. It will be an attempt to introduce local artists and audiences to this art form.
The long term plan is to encourage local artists to participate in global new media events such as “The One Minutes” and “Documentation”.
During the exhibition, the four artists will hold a public workshop on simple animation that will involve artists & media students.

Carnivore celebrity car wash and Mamba Village goes Love child


A celebrity car wash is set to take place at the carnivore later this month. The occasion is set to attract celebrity state-of- the art rides for a show down whose proceeds will go to listed homes of less privileged members of the society. It will clearly be a charity event and all those celebrities around are kindly requested to attend the show.
Mamba Village goes Love child
The Mamba Village will be hosting one of the Kenyans hottest and most celebrated artist Wyre the Love child. The star left for South Africa this Morning But will be back Tomorrow morning for the Reggae in the sun festival. On stage when he returns from his trip wyre will be backed up by the Altimate Band will performing.

Exhibition: “The Girl Art Project”

As from November 1st to 8th 2011 the Girl art project will be on at the Godown Art Centre. The exhibition is an inspiration from, experience, presence and will. The exhibition will feature art work from three female artists: Rummy Ireri, Kawira Mwirichia and Shillah Mombo.

Time: 11am to 7mp.


Eye contact painting exhibition


From November 12th to December 12th 2011 there will be a painting exhibition at Banana Hill Art Gallery.
The exhibition will start from 10am to 12noon that is from Monday to Saturday and from 12noon to 6mp on Sundays
