KEMRI – welcome trust research programme is very well known
internationally for its work in carrying out the duties of tackling Malaria and
other badly infectious diseases, particularly bacterial and viral child hood
infections. Currently the programme is seeking to recruit head of community engagement.
The qualified candidate will be stationed at Kilifi.
Main roles
- He or she will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of all the community engagement in the KEMRI welcome trust research in Kilifi and also inclusive of other areas around Kenya.
- Will be supporting high quality, ethical biomedical research thus by maximizing mutual understanding between the local residents/research participants and programme staff based on a positive, transparency and respectful relationship
- Support the development of locally appropriate policy for research and practice.
- Communicating with local, internal and international collaborators/stakeholders about community engagement policy and practice in the programme.
