The Higher Education Loans Board is a full state corporation whose mandate is to look for funds and provide the required loans, scholarships and bursaries to Kenyan studying in recognized institutions of higher learning. At the moment the loans board is looking for potential, competent, passionate, dedicated and self driven individuals of that higher integrity. The ideal candidates should be able to show and demonstrate leadership skills for them fill the below positions
Information communication technology Help desk- support specialist
Main responsibilities
  • ·         Be the intermediary between customers and the internet support staff to assure problem interpretation, and maintain communication with customers during the problem resolution process
  • ·         Carry out user submitted problems by resolving them as per the policies and procedures for handling of support cases
  • ·         Should be able to obtain and convey concise problem information for external and internal personnel
  • ·         Escalate problems as appropriate following help desk procedures
  • ·         Maintain in- depth knowledge of help desk supported products and services that will enhance and improve computing support delivered to customers, while managing help desk documentation , records, procedure and reports
  • ·         Be able to provide first level problem resolutions for all the internal and external users with hardware and software.
Educational qualification
  • ·         A bachelor’s degree in ICT
  • ·         Team player
  • ·         Should have good interpersonal skills communication once
  • ·         Should have at least worked in a busy ICT firm for not less than three years
  • ·         Should also have analytical and report writing skills
  • ·         Knowledge of ICT help desk management and user support skills
Head of operations
Will serve as the head principle adviser to the CEO on all the strategic matters relating to the loan management system
Key roles and responsibilities

  • ·         Work very closely with partners to make sure all the boards’ mandates are met
  • ·         Able to provide leadership that will motivate the leading and recovery team
  • ·         Be able to design and ensure implementation of customers focused services delivery systems
  • ·         Carry out the entire network with key partners to facilitate the leading and recovery process.
  • ·         Ensure all the departments meet the required procedures
  • ·         Be the key driver of the loan management programmes including formulating leading and recovery policies
  • ·         Make sure the recovery of departmental goals is done
Desired educational qualifications
  • ·         A degree in finance, economics or related area
  • ·         A very well strategic thinker with leadership, business acumen and way by far analytical skills
  • ·         Have professional skills in credit management
  • ·         Those with post graduate qualifications will have an advantage
  • ·         Minimum of 10 years experience in a successful credit management and dept collection operations, five of which must be in senior management with reputable institution
  • ·         Proven IT proficiency especially in credit management systems and Microsoft office.
Information communication systems Administrator
Key responsibilities
  • ·         Install configure updates and upgrade of OS and application software
  • ·         User’s administration (setup and maintain user accounts, oracle database management and profile in the database
  • ·         System tuning and performance monitoring
  • ·         Verify that peripherals are working properly
  • ·         Be able to repair hardware’s on occasion of hardware failure
  • ·         Make sure the network is up and running as always
  • ·         Make sure all the security details for users are setup and computer system networked.
Educational skills
  • ·         A bachelor’s degree in ICT
  • ·         Knowledge of windows operating systems, MS exchange serve and oracle database.
  • ·         Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ·         Quality analytical skills and creativity
  • ·         Should have served in the ICT environment for at least three years
System developer / programmer
Key responsibilities
  • ·         Application requirements analysis, system design, development, implementation, testing and runtime analysis
  • ·         Web design and development skills is an add
  • ·         Provide assistance, advice and training to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.
  • ·         Work together with the system administrators in application installation and testing
  • ·         Management of outsource relationship for 3rd party applications, development and running program consultancy
Educational skills
  • ·         Should have a bachelors degree in ICT
  • ·         Knowledge of software design and programming
  • ·         Analytical skills
  • ·         Adaptability and ability to pick up new techniques
  • ·         Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • ·         Worked in a busy ICT  support environment for at least three years
Assistance procurement officer
Key roles and responsibilities
  • Report to the assistant Manager, procurement
  • Will have operational support and ensure the procurement functions is compliant with the public procurement and disposal act and regulations
Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Should have served in a huge procurement office for three years
  • Highly energetic individual with the ability to deliver results
